Getting Started

• Double-click anywhere on the canvas to create a node — it auto-connects to the node you created just before it, using whichever connection line style you last picked. Turn this off anytime with the "Auto-connect" button in the toolbar.
• Double-click a node to edit it — type your text, then click Done or click outside the node.
• Drag from one node's edge to another to connect them.
• Name your map in the top bar and click Save. It autosaves as you work, so you won't lose a draft even if you forget.

Nodes

• Move: click and drag a node.
• Format text: while editing, use B / I / U, or click Aa for bullet/numbered lists, links, and embedded images (max 1.5MB).
• Color: click the 🎨 icon in a node's toolbar and pick from the palette, or "No color" to reset.
• Icon tag: click the 😀 icon to mark a node with a small badge (idea, priority, warning, etc.).
• Resize: drag any edge or corner of a selected node.
• Delete: select a node and press Delete or Backspace.

Connections

• Drag from one of a node's four connection points to another node to link them.
• Click a connection to select it — a small editor appears bottom-left with a label field, color swatches, and a line-style picker (Smooth, Dashed, Animated Circuit, LED, Old School).
• Select a connection and press Delete to remove it.

Selecting Nodes

• Single select: click a node.
• Multi-select: Shift+click additional nodes, Shift+drag on empty canvas to select everything in a region, or press Ctrl/Cmd+A to select the entire map.
• Drag any node in a multi-selection to move the whole group together.
• With nodes multi-selected, a toolbar appears for bulk color changes or bulk delete.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Navigating the Canvas

• Pan: click and drag any empty area of the canvas (or one-finger drag on touch).
• Zoom: scroll your mouse wheel (or pinch on a trackpad/touchscreen) — it zooms toward your cursor. Or use the −/+ buttons bottom-right.
• Reset view: click Reset next to the zoom controls.
• Minimap: the overview top-right shows your whole map — click anywhere on it to jump there.
• Search: use the search box top-left to filter nodes by text and jump between matches.
• Tidy Up: auto-arranges your map into a radial tree from the selected node (or the most-connected node in each cluster if nothing's selected).
• Auto-connect: on by default — each node you double-click into existence connects to the one before it. Click the "Auto-connect" button in the toolbar to turn this off if you'd rather place disconnected nodes and wire them up yourself.

Saving, Exporting & Printing

• Use the map dropdown to switch between your saved maps, or choose "New Map."
• Pick a starting point from the Templates dropdown (Brainstorm, SWOT Analysis, Project Plan) to pre-fill the canvas — it's just a starting layout, edit it freely.
• Save creates or updates the current map. Save As stores a copy as a brand-new map, leaving the original untouched. Load brings a saved map onto the canvas. Delete removes it permanently.
• History shows past saved versions of the current map — pick one to restore it (your current state is kept as a version too, so nothing is lost).
• Share generates a read-only link to the current map that anyone can view without an account.
• Export PNG downloads the whole map as an image, regardless of your current zoom or pan.
• Print opens your browser's print dialog with a clean, canvas-only layout.

Themes

Use the theme picker in the top bar to choose from 6 looks: Blueprint (light), Night (dark), Cyberpunk Neon (dark), Forest (light), Sunset (light), and Slate Mono (dark). Your choice is saved to your account automatically and applies everywhere you're logged in.
